[Edit June 2017- Lock Cha is no longer all vegan. Customers on non-dairy diets should always ask.]

Succeeding i Vegetarian as Best Restaurant of the month is Lock Cha Tea House. This is why.

Monthly award best 2017-02 Lock Cha

For those unfamiliar with Lock Cha they started out as an importer of specialist tea to Hong Kong in 1991. They have gone from strength to strength since then and have a well established all vegan cafe at their location near Admiralty. After closing for refurb they we were a welcome re-addition to the HK vegan scene when they reopened in July 2016.

The food offered is dim sum and among Hong Kong’s best of that style of cuisine. It’s not aimed at those on the strictest of budgets; food like this comes at a price. Nor though do you have to be Li Ka Shing to afford to eat there. As for the specialist tea they offer, it does help if you are Li Ka Shing to afford some of the wares on sale. For those on more earthly budgets, the tea on sale in the cafe to accompany dim sum starts at more grounded prices of around 40 hkd.
