Lock Cha re-opens

[Edit 2017- Lock Cha is no longer all vegan. Customers on non-dairy diets should always ask.]

Some welcome news from the Admiralty area is the re-opening of Lock Cha Tea House in Hong Kong Park. As well as tea they have all vegan dim sum. They had been closed for a number of months for renovation. Initially they hoped to re-open in May. After some delays they re-opened the doors to customers once again on 16 July.

Lock Cha is a higher end spot. They have a delicious dim sum menu. The relaxing location in the KS Lo Gallery in Hong Kong Park is lovely. The greenery of the park and the water features give the gallery a location that is bettered by only a few of the vegetarian eateries in HK. Inside decor is also charmingly pleasant. The walk from the MTR exit up the hill is escalator assisted.

Delicious as the food is, anyone at a stage of their life where they are on a tight budget may want to consider carefully pre-visiting. The mandatory tea charge starts at 38 hkd before any food is ordered. Its easy to rack the bucks up on to the food bill if your appetite is hearty. If you are a Montgomery Brewster type with silly sums of money to throw at tea, they have just the selection to part you from your cash.

They also have a shop at Queens Road Central retailing tea leaves to take away. There is no cafe facilities at the Queens Road Central location.
